tiny pots filled with tiny flowers are my favourite.
I was at the craft store the other day and couldn’t resist buying these mini pots. they are so adorable, I have a slight dollhouse obsession. I also picked up some ribbon, three rolls for a dollar! and well this is what happened.
I hot glued the chain to the inside of the pot. added in some fake foliage and some real dried baby’s breath I had laying about. and finished it off with a baby blue bow. I’m very happy with my results and I’m not sure how I will use the remaining three pots but stay tuned!
I unlazied myself to take these. I call them string rings (and things). since it’s the summer season, I wanted something light-weight but colourful enough to be noticed. for the rings, I put a tiny golden bead and knotted both sides. I’m experimenting with bracelets too, but instead of knots I used a pulled string thing (sorry I have no idea what that technique is called). that pulled string thing worked well with thinly braided floss (ha ha! the string is called embroidery floss, that I know) and it feels more secure.
thoughts or advice?
DIY Cutlery Tray Jewelry Storage and Display. I love the hooks at the bottom for extra long necklaces. I have my necklaces on an expandable mug rack like this one from Amazon and it works but there is no room for bracelets, so this would be an upgrade for me. Tutorial from Mini Manor here.
I’ve also been working with wire. I made two “love” wire things. I turned one into a bracelet and I’m still unsure of what to do with the bigger one. It does fit around my wrist but I would need to attach it to a chain and clasp. But I could also turn it into a necklace quite easily.
The last picture is another necklace I’ve been working on. It’s a collar necklace made of scrap chains my mom had given me. I like it, but it can get heavy if I wear it for too long.
nope, it’s the long weekend so I can’t be unlazy. the quality of the pictures isn’t the best, but you get the jest of just home many I’ve made so far.
this post has been a long time coming, it’s about my attempts at making book clutches. back in april I bought two hardcover books for 50 cents each with the full intent on turning them into clutches. I had found a few DIY tutorials but I couldn’t decide which method I wanted to use. so I combined a few steps from the ones I liked and added few of my own ideas too.
for the red book, book 1, I used this tutorial. I used a magnetic clasp because I couldn’t find one that looked like the one in the tutorial. overall, it was quite labour intensive to cut out all the pages. also my book’s spine fell off but that was just due to its age. there was a lot of effort put into this one as you had to wait for the glue to fully dry but I like the way it turned out.
for the green book, book 2, I used this video tutorial. I added a border to keep the shape and create illusion that it was still a book. I found this method a lot easier, I think I finished it within a day or so. but again there was some time spent on waiting for the glue to dry. I still need to add a clasp or a latch or something to keep the book closed. also, it’s much lighter than the other clutch because it’s empty of all the pages. I’m thinking about adding a chain but I’m still not sure yet.
but there you go, summer time crafts are in full swing. I have tonnes of ideas and material just laying about in my room, hopefully they’ll be put to good use soon.
These are so cute! You can buy them here.
